Article Galaxy® Summer 2015 Product Release Speeds Up Time-to-Papers for Researchers Worldwide
Newest Software-as-a-Service Version Release Bolsters Journal Content Access with 'In Browser' PDF downloads From Non-Subscribed Resources plus Other Time-saving Features

ENCINO, Calif., Aug. 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Research Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: RSSS), a pioneer in providing on-demand access to scientific, technical and medical (STM) information for life science companies, academic institutions, and other research-intensive organizations, announced today the summer 2015 product release of the journal content access and management platform Article Galaxy by subsidiary Reprints Desk, Inc., featuring breakthroughs in research workflow efficiencies.

Already a platform for one-stop shopping and lowest cost acquisition of full-text journal articles from participating publishers without requiring the use of credit cards for each transaction, the Article Galaxy summer 2015 release further enhances to time-to-papers with 'in browser' PDF downloads for non-subscribed content so researchers worldwide can access full-text journal articles, book chapters, and other resources 24/7 and immediately within the online requesting workflow.

"Scientists, engineers, and other researchers want the fastest access to full-text papers and other content without being inconvenienced by signing in with usernames and passwords, formatting citation data perfectly before ordering, requesting papers one-by-one, or having to pull out a credit card for each transaction," said Peter Derycz, president and CEO at Research Solutions. "Article Galaxy eliminates these costly steps, while providing legal access to full-text content with quality 24/7 service and support."

Summer 2015 enhancements, which moved into production for Reprints Desk customers on August 14, 2015, include:

Quick "In-Browser" Document Delivery Downloads
By virtue of Reprints Desk's Article Galaxy platform and expansive network of partnered publishers, researchers can now enjoy instant, direct access to content searched and found in their preferred discovery environments. The new Quick Downloads feature means researchers will no longer have to wait days, hours, or even minutes for the vital information they need to further their research objectives. Nor will they need to source documents individually from each publisher's website: Article Galaxy provides a single, seamless, and highly efficient access hub to deliver articles, subscribed and unsubscribed, immediately upon demand.

Auto-Population of Bibliographic Information into Order Form Fields
One of several new features that make document ordering easier, faster, and more accurate is the use of standard journal article identifiers such as digital object identifiers (DOIs) and PubMed IDs (PMIDs) to auto-populate the Article Galaxy article request form with complete bibliographic information related to the desired content. This feature saves data entry time for users, enables users to verify that such identifiers accurately apply to papers of interest before ordering them, and contributes to clean reporting data so users' organizations can identify opportunities to save money by subscribing to journals and databases.

Type Ahead Functionality
For Article Galaxy users who do not auto-populate the order form with a DOI/PMID or through integrations with other literature management systems like PubMed, Google Scholar, or EndNote, they can utilize new type ahead functionality in the publication field within the order form.  This saves time for users in identifying and adding accurate publication titles. The feature also includes the correlating the ISSN number, which supports faster delivery and cleaner reporting data.

New Publisher Agreements
Article Galaxy is based on an "any article, any publisher" sourcing model. Because the platform is not limited to any single collection, direct sourcing arrangements enable Reprints Desk to more quickly pull full-text content directly from publisher servers, then serve the content up to customers for online or offline viewing. The newest publisher partnerships enable Reprints Desk to expand electronic sourcing to Postgraduate Medicine, Hospital Practice, and The Physician and Sports Medicine from Taylor & Francis; to include titles in the social sciences, economics, and political theory from Palgrave Macmillan; and to more quickly deliver content from Thomson Reuters.

Corporations, academic institutions, and government organizations around the world rely on Reprints Desk and its online platform Article Galaxy for legal access to full-text scientific, technical, and medical content when subscription access does not yet exist. Article Galaxy provides one-stop shopping and lowest cost acquisition of full-text journal articles from publishers without requiring the use of credit cards for each transaction. Founded by Peter Derycz, also the founder of Infotrieve, Reprints Desk has ranked #1 overall and in each category in a document delivery vendor survey of buyers conducted by Outsell since the company's inception.
